What a great Olympic year it was for the descendants of Bordeaux. His offspring Bluetooth won the Gold Team Medal for Germany under Frederic Wandres. Fame, bred by the Gerritse family from Leerdam, won the Bronze Team Medal for England under Carl Hester. What a great breeding performance by our stallion Bordeaux and confirmation of the quality of our Stallion Station.
Every year in October the current WBFSH Stallion Ranking is made and our stallion Bordeaux is in a great 9th place with relatively many fewer descendants than his predecessors. With that, he has proven that he is a great breeding stallion. He now has 50 approved sons at studbooks all over Europe. He has no fewer than 18 offspring that compete at Grand Prix level. In addition, more than 50 offspring compete at Prix St. Georges level and more than 40 offspring at ZZ-Licht and ZZ-Zwaar level.
2022
What a great advertisement Bohemian by Cathrine Dufour has made for our stallion Bordeaux. With a 4th place at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and a Silver and Bronze Medal at the European Championships in Hagen, they are among the best combinations in the world. But also the international Grand Prix horses Rose of Bavaria, Bluetooth OLD, Bon Romantic, Bonheur la Vie and Fame bring Bordeaux to the top of the WBFSH Sire Ranking (17th place) and no. 1 on Hors Telex B-Ranking (offspring max. 12 years). Bordeaux is also distinctive in his breeding within the Netherlands with, among others, Performance Champion 2021 Merlot VDL (ds. Florencio), IBOP topper Laytown G (ds. Uptown) and W.K. topper Johnny Depp (ds. Jazz).
2021
His oldest offspring will only be 10 years old this year, but his inheritance is strong and this can already be seen in the various rankings. The turn of the year always has a major influence on the HorseTelex Ranking and especially the rankings for young sires. On the dynamic ranking, which is recalculated every day, the new leader of the B-ranking is Bordeaux. The former Stallion Inspection Champion 2009 has an IPV (International Progency Value) of 1,012.73. From January 9, 2020 to January 9, 2021, 11 of his offspring already competed in international dressage. Bordeaux has made the biggest leap in the WBFSH-Sire Ranking 2020 and is now in 29th place.
2020
Bordeaux has had another fantastic breeding year in 2020. During the World Cup competition in Aarhus, top talent Bohemian won under the Danish Cathrine Dufour and Kür op Muziek with a score of 88.200%, beating the German top such as Isabell Werth and Jessica von Bredow-Wernd. At the British Dressage Championships, Laura Tomlinson was in the top of the ranking with Rose of Bavaria and hopes to travel to the Olympic Games in Tokyo this year.
Bordeaux is fully available for the 2021 season. At the end of 2019, we bought back Paul Schockemöhle's share, making Bordeaux our property and fully available for Dutch breeding. We are very, very happy with that. Previously, we always ordered the semen in Germany and then had half sent to us. Now that he is at our stud, it is much easier and we can offer him daily. During the 2020 stud season, many breeders had confidence in Bordeaux and that is why we have achieved good pregnancy scores with him.

Our stallion Livius and Le Formidable were KWPN-approved at the 2019 Stallion Inspection.
2019
What a strong impression our stallion Bordeaux made with his sons at the KWPN Stallion Inspection. There were 5 sons selected for the 2nd viewing and all 5 were designated for the KWPN Performance Test including the later champion Le Formidable mv. Ferro bred and owned by Saskia Poels and Karel Gerrits. The other 4 are; L'avenue mv. Connaisseur, bred by us and Albert Drost from the well-known mare Haute Couture, Livius-Utopia mv. Vivaldi bred by us and his breeder Randolph van de Heuvel from the ZZ-Zwaar mare Blueberry-Utopia, Legend mv. Florencio bred by Marianne Hendriksen from the well-known Landsvrouwe line. His 5th designated son by was imported by VDL from Oldenburg and has Sir Donnerhall as dam's sire.
2018
What a breeding year for Bordeaux. From his first breeding year, mind you these children are only 9 years old now, is already a Grand Prix horse that scores around 75% +. His name is Bohemian (mv. Samarant) ridden by the Danish rider Cathrine Dufour. In addition, Bordeaux already has 8 Prix St. Georges horses, including our stallion Ferdeaux mv. Ferro, Fame, mv. Rhodium, Barroso mv. Saros XX, Bluetooth mv. Riccione, Best of All mv. Sir Donnerhall, Blackmony mv. Sandro Hit and the just 8-year-old Geronimo mv. Gribaldi and Budhi mv. Likoto XX.
Bordeaux and Isabel Freese were very successful in 2018. They achieved impressive results; during the Dressurfestival Gestüt Bonhomme a 2nd place with 76.029% in the Freestyle to Music, Dressurfestival Zeutern 2 unanimous victories of 73.904% and 72.442%. At the Derby of Hamburg a 3rd place with 71.980%. During the breeding seasons we have used Bordeaux relatively little for the international sport. At the end of 2018 he moved to the stables of Academy Bartels where he is further brought out by Akane Kuroki (Jpn). Due to this switch, Bordeaux is only available for Dutch breeding in 2019. We are very happy about this!
2017
With 3 stallions selected for the KWPN performance test, Bordeaux proves once again to be a breeding stallion of great level. Our selected stallion Karaat U.S., mv. Ferro bred by Johan van Laar from Rhenen is a stallion with great technique and power in his legs. At the H.K. Bordeaux presented himself very well in the VHO Trophy under Isabel Freese and finished in a very nice 2nd place. They are also very successful in the Grand Prix with scores up to 72-73% and were selected by their country last summer for the European Dressage Championships in Gothenburg.
Bordeaux, with a Dutch breeding index of 149, is becoming a real foundation stallion, both in the Netherlands and in Germany. From his first 3 years, 3 stallions have already been approved by the KWPN, namely Ferdeaux, Google and Grenoble. In Germany, Bordeaux is the sire of 12 approved stallions. His son Buckingham won the 70-day test in Adelheidsdorf. The Bordeauxs make a big impression everywhere, during mare inspections, VSN Trophy, Pavo Cup, IBOP and performance tests.
In Germany too, our stallion Bordeaux is highly praised. At the PSI auction 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Bordeaux offspring were sold for exceptional amounts. At the PSI 2015, even 4 Bordeaux offspring were auctioned for mega amounts.
2016
Bordeaux itself has developed fantastically under Eva Möller. In 2014 and early 2015, they were very successful in the Prix St. Georges with scores well above 70%. In 2016, they started in the Grand Prix with the highlight being the Final for the Louisdor Cup. At the end of 2016, Bordeaux got a new rider because Eva left the Kasselmann/Schockemöhle Team.
Bordeaux comes from a great lineage: United x Gribaldi x Donnerhall x Rousseau x Angelo xx. The Angelo xx daughter Adone is also the mother of Rembrandt (by Romadour II), Olympic champion with Nicole Uphoff. Adone is also the full sister of Ahlerich, European, World and Olympic champion with Dr. Reiner Klimke and full sister of Amon, Dutch dressage champion with Annemarie Sanders-Keijzer.
